The Scott Effman Band emanates the good feeling one gets while listening to Third Eye Blind or Dave Matthews. Formed in Spring of 2005, the Scott Effman Band is playing around Gainesville starting in early September. Scott Effman, a Gainesville-based singer/songwriter originally from Fort Lauderdale, has been playing at Swamp, Side Bar, Dirty Birds, Durty Nelly's, and other bars/restaurants/coffee-shops for the past 3 years. James Taylor, of whom shares the name with a folk-rock idol but-isn't-really-him, plays drums. A co-founding member of the band, James holds the sophistication to syncopate complex time signatures and pump a rock pulse into Scott's all-too-often sedated acoustic riffs. Dylan Alexander, bassist, made a late entry into S.E.B. and completed the sound with driving low-ends. With a jazz background, Dylan is soft-spoken and writes bass riffs with great complexity on the cuff like a monster. Come see the Scott Effman Band perform live; it will surely be a great experience.
